Reality television
Fighting tribes and religion
Ignorance and division
It’s black and white in this instance

Living among the human beings, this ain’t my home

No copilot for this alien to go to
But in the woods or by the lake
A place with space where we’re not too late
No cage of wires wrapped around the world
A trap set, a future unfurled
The left and the right think that life goes on in black and white
But in real life the day and the night ain’t so easy
They seem to go on regardless of what’s pleasing
So most of my life I struggle with finding Jesus
And then I beam right into you
An alien just like me too
No one sees Earth just like we do
Or notices we’re just passing through, thank you
For once in my life I’m an alien who found its home
